Sara is a young girl who finds it difficult to socialize, and has very few friends. In fact, her only companions are her three porcelain dolls, Clarissa, Matilda, and Gertrude. At first, their friendship seems perfect, but when Sara takes an interest in Josh, a boy from her school, her relationship with the dolls begins to disintegrate. All Sara wants is to win the affection of Josh, but Clarissa, Matilda, and Gertrude are determined to stand in her way.
