Description: In a world where the content of digital images and videos can no longer be taken at face value, an unlikely hero...

  • This video is why I will show the whole series to my 8 year old son. Being able to say "I'm not sure" is soooo hard, yet at the core of science and skepticism. It is probably one of the hardest things to say for a human, even harder than "I'm wrong".
The world is full of shades of gray (no not _those_ "Grays" silly!) and accepting ambiguity is part of being a Skeptic.
This episode shows how you can get so very close to debunking a video, yet not be able to close the case. At this very point it would be oh so easy to slip across the line and declare the case proven, and most of us viewers would simply nod and follow along like good little sheep.
But _You_ Captain Disillusion resisted the temptation and jumped that highest of obstacles -- the meta-level -- to show us the real power of being a Skeptic and the ability to say "I don't know".
Thank you Captain Disillusion for reminding us of this important truth, and may your quest take you to places you never dreamed of.

    • Yes, it's just like admitting that comments here don't read HTML :)
Thank you for the kind words.

  • I was debunked one time & it hurt like hell. That's what I get for staying over at my friend's house. Stupid bunk beds ... :-)
    (Great once again Capt)

  • Maybe the plane just had engine silencers! or not...
I like it, even Capt. D knows the boundaries of debunking!

    • Yes, it's not about debunking for the sake of debunking. It's about seeking truth.
