The story develops in a prison camp where a soldier lives his personal defeat as a man imprisoned in others' meanings. It's a monologue that walks the audience along the desperate descent to the awareness of failure. The soldier is required to guard a prisoner and doing so he wonders about his attitude, his life, the moment that he is living and he compares himself to the prisoner and only in the end he realizes that they're the very same man. How much they both have been considered and intended. The figure nearly semiotics, iconic, of the prisoner is for the soldier both a way of escaping and saving at the same time. (Less)
