“TORNO SUBITO” is our movie. It is the world’s first free movie on the web in HD! To watch it you don’t need to take your car, look for a park and neither get any ticket.
We are not a production company. We are not an association.
We are only a group of people working in cinema industry who have got only one purpose in life: demostrate that is possible make a movie not being “sons of…” or “f**king with…”
We succeded in it? We can’t say it: what do you think? Watch our movie and contac tus!
For us, making a movie is like playing in a team. And the tim who win isnt’ that one made by champions, maybe talented but selfish. The winning team is that one in which really exist the team… where everyone respect his role and the other ones… where the champions give and hand to the newbies… where the score is most important than doing acrobatics… where the team playing believing that with a lot of willing and some good luck, the results will come.
None of us was believing that we will succeed in shooting this movie when we met for the first time. It was a cold afternoon of December. Thanks to the social networks we find ourself. And it happened. We made a movie. We imagined it. We shot it. We edited it. And we distributed it in Italy, reaching about 1 million spectators in three months. Now we want to take our movie abroad. And we want to do it with the help of everyone who knows how to use the web and want to help us.
The film has been shot in high definition. This format permit to print our movie on film and proiect it in cinemas without losing details.
Our feature film cost: nothing
None of us perceived any retribution for this movie. We don't asked for any loan or any financing. Everyone shared what he have to share. Someone put the camera, someother the microphone, some people their experience and some their stomach-ache.
This movie had a low impact on the enviroment. We used flash memories, rewritable infinite times, insthead the normal tapes. Every object you see in the movie has been taken from our garrets or in flee markets. The crew has moved using car sharing or using public buses and trains.

© 2008.
Jack, a delinquent teenage boy, runs away in hopes of reuniting with Jesse, the gay father Jack hasn’t spoken to in seven years. Jack’s timing couldn’t be worse. To the shock of his father and his father’s partner, Connor, the boy shows up in the middle of their marriage proposal. Even more shocking, both Connor and Jack didn’t know the other existed. The party transforms into a true Dynasty moment as Connor and Jack storm out in opposite directions.
Torn between the two, Jesse doesn’t know whom to go to first. The couple’s snarky best friend, Patrick, takes charge. He shoos Jesse after Connor and then rushes after the boy himself. Patrick’s love for his friends, his pity for the confused boy before him, and the “blunt” Jack pulls from his backpack all help Patrick convince the boy to stay. Meanwhile, Jesse is less successful. Connor packs a bag and goes… across the street to stay with the neighbor, Dale.
Tense weeks go by as Jesse and Jack try to rebuild their relationship. However, even as father and son make progress, Jesse can’t seem to patch things up with Connor. The couple continues to drift further and further apart.
Dale watches as Connor acquires a glut of new habits – going days without bathing, strewing trash, and drinking continuously – until he can’t take anymore. Dale teams up with Patrick (a la I Love Lucy) to step in, intervene, and accelerate the healing process.
The plan works! The couple reunites, Jack gets back on track, wedding arrangements are made, and everyone blends into one big happy family. Until… There’s a knock at the door. It’s two weeks before the ceremony, and the son’s girlfriend, Cara, is standing there. Scared, alone, and VERY pregnant. At this pivotal moment, can this group of gay men convince the straight boy to “man up”? Will the coming baby get more presents than the happy couple? And, more importantly, can Jesse endure his new title: Grandpa?
What makes Timing unique is that it is based on actual events from the author’s life. This personal touch strikes a chord of realism while remaining laugh-out-loud funny. You walk away feeling like you know the characters personally, just like the author. (Less)

What would it be like to abandon your independence, to need people, to rely on strangers for food and transport, safety and kindness - and to film it all?
Born and raised in South Africa, Kyle and Tarynn embarked on an adventure - to hitch-hike across the United States of America. Before they leave, a concerned friend offers them a colt 45 pistol as protection from 'the crazies'. Heading out of New York City, with a thumb in the air, the two friends’ journey, one car at a time, into a world of trailer parks, drugs, and American fast food. They find themselves spending the night with Dave, his forty cats and electric guitars! And their lives begin to change. Friendship is tested. They find their perfect family in a log cabin in Tennessee and accept God in a pick up truck with a man named Bob. Staying with strangers in a foreign land turns out to be a journey closer to home.
Shot on two tiny hand-held cameras, 111 is a tour through the cultural backwoods of America, a keyhole into a friendship and two people yearning for discovery. 111 is the number of rides it takes to accept people for who they are - to trust life.
So get in the car. (Less)

The Making of "Briny Deep":
"We shot the video over two days, along the rocky Eastern coastline of Puna on the Big Island of Hawaii. I wanted it to look more like the coastline of the Pacific Northwest or New England. I always had cliffs in mind ever since I first heard the song. We were fortunate enough to shoot on a couple of overcast days where the water was really stirred up. Most of the Eastern coast of the big island has scenery like this but one of our main concerns was to find a stretch where you wouldn't see any homes in the background.
The only crew involved were RaVani and myself. I threw my camera gear in a bag and brought a portable radio for playback. RaVani sang to a temp mix of the song in which the chorus had not been recorded yet. Luckily once the song was complete it synched up perfectly.
The band was in a transitional period and not all of the members were available for the shoot. Also, I thought it would be more appropriate to focus on RaVani due to the mystical and thematic elements of the song which center around a relationship between a mother and daughter.
The limited crew, however, worked out for the best because it's quite dangerous out around the cliffs. RaVani actually worried me a few times when she stepped out on the edge without warning me. A couple times I thought she was going right over. It made for some great shots but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. We were probably lucky. The "lack" of personnel may have even helped RaVani a bit because I think it allowed her to feel more comfortable to lip synch without a bunch of people watching.
"Briny Deep" is my favorite Technical Difficulties song and I took my inspiration for the video from the feelings it stirs up inside me when I watch them perform it live. It's one of those songs that you hear and are immediately drawn into because of the composition and the intensity of the vocals. As you look deeper into the song and read the lyrics you grow to appreciate the story that it tells, which is quite tragic. The song would evoke images in my head that really stuck with me. The thread between the music and the lyrics is very strong. It was a challenge for me to attempt the video. I was nervous that it would fall short of the song's power and impact. I merely wanted to create imagery to accompany the song, not try to upstage it.
My take on the song... although RaVani could explain it much better then I could ever hope to... is this; The song revolves around a mother and daughter who are lost at sea at night. The mother has mystical powers which she transfers to her daughter so that she can survive the danger. The quieter portions of the song is when the mother is assuring her daughter that all will be okay and not to fear. The chorus expresses the mothers attempts to keep them both safe to on avail, and the grief of having to give up her powers. In the end the mother drowns in the briny, deep, dark, cold water.
In the video I tried to represent these emotions without showing them literally. The doll representing the daughter and the boat representing being lost at sea. RaVani is playing the part of the mother and her character is reflecting on the tragic events and trying to control the water, to push is back. She is remembering and pining for her daughter. In the end, when she disappears from the cliff, it is meant to represent that she is a spirit haunting the cliff on the sea where she drowned.
The song is so pure and I wanted the visuals to stay along those lines so I shot in black and white because I wanted to go for a stark, dreamlike quality. Like the memory of something sad or tragic. The colors in Hawaii can be quite vivid with a lot of green and blue. I wanted to get as far away from that kind of a look as possible, since we had just captured the island feel in another Technical Difficulties video "Jungle" and because "Briny Deep" has such a dark tone to it, it just felt right to make this way. I used an Arri 16mm BL and my trusty Minolta Autometer for exposures. The 16mm grainy film gave it the haunting look that I really wanted. For other sections of the video, I used a Canon GL 1 Mini DV camera and I cut the whole thing on Final Cut Pro.
This video was really difficult to edit and was a tremendous challenge for me. It went through a lot of stages before I felt comfortable with it. Telling a story in a music video isn't the same as telling a story in a short or feature film. With music videos, there are so many possibilities. In the end, it definitely took on a life of it's own. It turned out better than expected, although, there are some more things I would have liked to have been able to do. Like shooting on a boat in the middle of the ocean at night in a raging sea... but that's a whole different kind of budget. (Less)

http://www.a3film.com - Director Neill Blomkamp teams with producer Peter Jackson for this tale of extraterrestrial refugees stuck in contemporary South Africa. It's been thirty years since the aliens made first contact, but there was never any attack from the skies, nor any profound technological revelation capable of advancing our society. Instead, the aliens were treated as refugees. They were the last of their kind, and in order to accommodate them the government of South Africa set up a makeshift home in District 9 as politicians and world leaders debated how to handle the situation. As the humans begin to grow wary of the unwelcomed intruders, a private company called Multi-National United (MNU) is assigned the task of controlling the aliens. But MNU is less interested in the aliens' welfare than attempting to understand how their weaponry works. Should they manage to make that breakthrough, they will receive tremendous profits to fund their research. Unfortunately, the highly advanced weaponry requires alien DNA to activate. When MNU field operative Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley) contracts an unusual virus that causes his DNA to mutate, the tensions between the aliens and the humans intensifies. Wikus is the key to unlocking the alien's technology, and he quickly becomes the most wanted man on the planet. Ostracized and isolated, Wikus retreats to District 9 in a desperate bid to shake his dogged pursuers. Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide. (Less)

Dr. Dog is a psychedelic rock band from Philadelphia consisting of members Scott McMicken (A.K.A. Taxi), Toby Leaman (Tables), Zach Miller (Text), Juston Stens (Trouble), and Sukey Jumps (Thanks). Past members include Doug O'Donnell (Truck), Ted Mark (Today), and Andrew Jones (Trial). Dr. Dog has explained that friends of the band also receive nicknames, which are drawn from various aspects of their lives and personalities (Jones, for example, is a certified lawyer). Their sound has been compared to that of various 1960s pop bands, especially The Beatles and Doo-wop, as well as Cromagnon. Before 2004, the band was not well-known, and was often mistaken for a hip-hop group because of its name. The group had a small fanbase until My Morning Jacket brought them on tour. Soon after, The New York Times music critic Kelefa Sanneh praised the group's album Easy Beat in a December 2004 article, leading to attention from other critics. They signed with Rough Trade Records and completed their first cross-country tour in 2005. Late 2005 saw the departure of Jones, who became a full-time lawyer. Jones was replaced by S. Jumps. In early 2006 the group toured Europe and the US with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah and has also been the opening band for The Strokes' 2006 tour in Detroit, Cleveland in the United States of America, as well as a tour with The Raconteurs, and The Black Keys in the fall of 2006. In September of 2006, Dr. Dog released a new EP, Takers and Leavers. The title, presumably drawing from terms coined in Daniel Quinn's Ishmael. The first 1000 bought had custom covers. The regular EP was for sale later in September. The EP will feature the song Ain't It Strange and Die, Die Die; both will be on their LP, We All Belong, coming out February 27th from Park the Van Records. Another song, Worst Trip, from their up coming album is featured on the soundtrack for the movie Fast Food Nation. (Less)
