A great new series from Babel Productions, Temps Mort (time out), begins on the Internet on tempsmort.tv starting July 9th. A massive event on the Internet unlike any other. Never has a series had such complete and immersive content. In 10 episodes of about 5 minutes each, this series follows the story of Joel, a young adult leaving Montreal and trying to return to his family in Rouyn-Noranda, following a cataclysm in the year 2013. He is stopped in the middle of his escape and finds shelter in the countryside. Electricity fails and, in the middle of September, snow suddenly starts to fall. Facing a scenery frozen in time and ice, only his notebook keeps him sane. He
patiently waits for winter to end and for communications to be restored, but there is no sign whatsoever that the situation is going to change… snow keeps on falling and the months go by : April, May, June… and still more snow and no help coming!

Festival en Cannes 2009 - « Prix spécial du jury »

SYNOPSIS
Pour Alejandro, la musique classique est la chose la plus importante au monde. Alejandro demande aux passants le chemin afin de se rendre au concert ayant lieu le soir même. Malheureusement, sa naïveté et sa simplicité d'esprit ne le mène pas toujours au bon endroit au bon moment. C'est dans un métro obscur et angoissant que celui-ci affronte l'inconnu. Malgré son comportement maladroit, Alejandro trouve son chemin à travers le labyrinthe sous-terrain, où il fait de sombres rencontres. C'est en parallèle avec un concert enivrant et magistral que le pauvre homme se laisse guider par sa passion musicale.

Montage rapide illustrant l'envahissement visuel et sonore subi par le citadin.

Réalisé au Kino-Kabaret des Rencontres Internationales du Micro-Cinéma (RIMC) de Montréal en septembre 2008. Ce montage critique s'appuie sur le propos du cinéaste québécois Bernard Émond. C'est en même temps un hommage au film russe classique "L'Homme à la caméra" de Dziga Vertov (1929).
