In an abandoned city before a tropical storm, a woman decides to stay...
Through this film, our ambition was to portray a particular ambience and feeling more than a heavy storyline. We (Patrick Harboun, Ronan Le Fur and Joaquim Montserrat) worked on it for 6 months within our studies at Supinfocom, a French CG animation school.
The soundtrack was composed by Christophe Julien.
The film's website www.findete.com features a lot of background information.
We hope you'll enjoy it. (Less)

http://www.a3film.com - Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort’s defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn’t counted on Romilda Vane’s chocolates! And then there’s Hermione, simmering with jealousy but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

© 2008.
Jack, a delinquent teenage boy, runs away in hopes of reuniting with Jesse, the gay father Jack hasn’t spoken to in seven years. Jack’s timing couldn’t be worse. To the shock of his father and his father’s partner, Connor, the boy shows up in the middle of their marriage proposal. Even more shocking, both Connor and Jack didn’t know the other existed. The party transforms into a true Dynasty moment as Connor and Jack storm out in opposite directions.
Torn between the two, Jesse doesn’t know whom to go to first. The couple’s snarky best friend, Patrick, takes charge. He shoos Jesse after Connor and then rushes after the boy himself. Patrick’s love for his friends, his pity for the confused boy before him, and the “blunt” Jack pulls from his backpack all help Patrick convince the boy to stay. Meanwhile, Jesse is less successful. Connor packs a bag and goes… across the street to stay with the neighbor, Dale.
Tense weeks go by as Jesse and Jack try to rebuild their relationship. However, even as father and son make progress, Jesse can’t seem to patch things up with Connor. The couple continues to drift further and further apart.
Dale watches as Connor acquires a glut of new habits – going days without bathing, strewing trash, and drinking continuously – until he can’t take anymore. Dale teams up with Patrick (a la I Love Lucy) to step in, intervene, and accelerate the healing process.
The plan works! The couple reunites, Jack gets back on track, wedding arrangements are made, and everyone blends into one big happy family. Until… There’s a knock at the door. It’s two weeks before the ceremony, and the son’s girlfriend, Cara, is standing there. Scared, alone, and VERY pregnant. At this pivotal moment, can this group of gay men convince the straight boy to “man up”? Will the coming baby get more presents than the happy couple? And, more importantly, can Jesse endure his new title: Grandpa?
What makes Timing unique is that it is based on actual events from the author’s life. This personal touch strikes a chord of realism while remaining laugh-out-loud funny. You walk away feeling like you know the characters personally, just like the author. (Less)

The Making of "Briny Deep":
"We shot the video over two days, along the rocky Eastern coastline of Puna on the Big Island of Hawaii. I wanted it to look more like the coastline of the Pacific Northwest or New England. I always had cliffs in mind ever since I first heard the song. We were fortunate enough to shoot on a couple of overcast days where the water was really stirred up. Most of the Eastern coast of the big island has scenery like this but one of our main concerns was to find a stretch where you wouldn't see any homes in the background.
The only crew involved were RaVani and myself. I threw my camera gear in a bag and brought a portable radio for playback. RaVani sang to a temp mix of the song in which the chorus had not been recorded yet. Luckily once the song was complete it synched up perfectly.
The band was in a transitional period and not all of the members were available for the shoot. Also, I thought it would be more appropriate to focus on RaVani due to the mystical and thematic elements of the song which center around a relationship between a mother and daughter.
The limited crew, however, worked out for the best because it's quite dangerous out around the cliffs. RaVani actually worried me a few times when she stepped out on the edge without warning me. A couple times I thought she was going right over. It made for some great shots but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. We were probably lucky. The "lack" of personnel may have even helped RaVani a bit because I think it allowed her to feel more comfortable to lip synch without a bunch of people watching.
"Briny Deep" is my favorite Technical Difficulties song and I took my inspiration for the video from the feelings it stirs up inside me when I watch them perform it live. It's one of those songs that you hear and are immediately drawn into because of the composition and the intensity of the vocals. As you look deeper into the song and read the lyrics you grow to appreciate the story that it tells, which is quite tragic. The song would evoke images in my head that really stuck with me. The thread between the music and the lyrics is very strong. It was a challenge for me to attempt the video. I was nervous that it would fall short of the song's power and impact. I merely wanted to create imagery to accompany the song, not try to upstage it.
My take on the song... although RaVani could explain it much better then I could ever hope to... is this; The song revolves around a mother and daughter who are lost at sea at night. The mother has mystical powers which she transfers to her daughter so that she can survive the danger. The quieter portions of the song is when the mother is assuring her daughter that all will be okay and not to fear. The chorus expresses the mothers attempts to keep them both safe to on avail, and the grief of having to give up her powers. In the end the mother drowns in the briny, deep, dark, cold water.
In the video I tried to represent these emotions without showing them literally. The doll representing the daughter and the boat representing being lost at sea. RaVani is playing the part of the mother and her character is reflecting on the tragic events and trying to control the water, to push is back. She is remembering and pining for her daughter. In the end, when she disappears from the cliff, it is meant to represent that she is a spirit haunting the cliff on the sea where she drowned.
The song is so pure and I wanted the visuals to stay along those lines so I shot in black and white because I wanted to go for a stark, dreamlike quality. Like the memory of something sad or tragic. The colors in Hawaii can be quite vivid with a lot of green and blue. I wanted to get as far away from that kind of a look as possible, since we had just captured the island feel in another Technical Difficulties video "Jungle" and because "Briny Deep" has such a dark tone to it, it just felt right to make this way. I used an Arri 16mm BL and my trusty Minolta Autometer for exposures. The 16mm grainy film gave it the haunting look that I really wanted. For other sections of the video, I used a Canon GL 1 Mini DV camera and I cut the whole thing on Final Cut Pro.
This video was really difficult to edit and was a tremendous challenge for me. It went through a lot of stages before I felt comfortable with it. Telling a story in a music video isn't the same as telling a story in a short or feature film. With music videos, there are so many possibilities. In the end, it definitely took on a life of it's own. It turned out better than expected, although, there are some more things I would have liked to have been able to do. Like shooting on a boat in the middle of the ocean at night in a raging sea... but that's a whole different kind of budget. (Less)

A story about the discoveries of a creature sent to earth to investigate human life.
A philosophical view on things around us in Western Society.
Experimental Digital Media Production in English and German.
What are the film and the scenes about: THE STORY- BASIC IDEA.
The only character that appears in this experimental film as a kind of story teller is the Blind Queen, which is a creature from another world - sent as a human being - to investigate the earth, human behaviour and its relationship to nature and its inner self. It is a fiction story about a creature coming to earth that documents her feelings and experiences as a person.
The film shows different places and people passing by or in close-ups. The more outstanding people are, the more interested is the Blind Queen watching them. The story - if there is any - is pointed on Western Society and its lack of spirituality and understanding of inner worlds...
The setting is built up around places in Western Australia, City and landscapes, natural environments and industrial places. There is no specific time line. This experimental film has neither storyboard nor a clearly defined script with an action running through. The pictures that appear and the scenes are in a non-regular sequence and are following only the basic idea of these six stages of transformation in life. The film is produced in German and English with the choice of subtitles. (Less)

Xcorps Action Sports Show #15.) "RAT" seg5 - This Xcorps episode runs fast hot and just inches off the pavement with guest host and gold medal street luger Rat Sult taking our cameras to his secret training hill and a tour of his X toy filled garage all pumped hard with new music and videos from Rive Video Productions.
Guest host Rat Sult who is known in the industry as a bad assed nice guy has some fun as an Xcorps host giving details on subjects such as his protective leathers and how to roll without burning on a high-speed slide. Great shots here with Rat sreaming by the cameras at close to 60 MPH on the rural So Cal hairpins. See dust fly as he cuts it too close and hits the rock wall! New hip hop vid from the band WildChild doing their song WonderYears rolls this action.
After the break Rat returns with some shots from his luge gold medal wins in the X and Gravity Games and a thro to a pimpin huge video from our pals at RIVE and SPV Records with the band Monster Magnet rolling out their song Unbroken Hotel Baby. Interview with band member Dave Windorf after the video. What an icon!
Then the luge street action returns from the serpentine hills 30 miles north of San Diego with Rat and some adrenalized POV on board shots pushed by the angst and darkness of RoadRunner Records band SlipKnot letting loose out of control scenes from their new video Duality. This band set some new standards for sure.
After the dark there comes the light with Rat introducing the band Nickelback and their new video Feeling Way too Damn Good. Nice film production and effects quality here. Feeling good tune. Then
Rat picks up more speed on his billet aluminum street luge and rolls the cameras this time to his house in Temecula Ca and a look at the fun sports toys he keeps in his garage. See the Rat Sult collectors edition action sports figure and the special edition Rat Gravity downhill skateboard. Rat also shows off his winning luge rigs and gives a little on the sports history. See what toy he digs most!
The show wraps with some great street level speed with rap tunes from Wildchild and the ever gracious Rat Sult thanking viewers for joining him for a look at the dangerous niche X sport of street luge. Additional music by Sappy Bell.

Has the memory faded out... or has it become stronger and stronger, day after day?
A reflection on the terrible power that material richness may have on a human being...
When a collaboration calls for another collaboration! Me and my friends just joined our forces in a video for a cover sung by one of them and I was told:
Dan, if there's a song of yours for which you'd like to have us in the video for... just ask! - Said and done, I came up with this song I wrote back in 2004.
I ended making it all by myself, for many reasons... but the input was definitely there, in my mind and in my heart.
Everything has been filmed/edited by me, here at home (you wouldn't tell, hm? Well, everything... with the exception of the forest scenes, filmed outside my
