Through Armstrong's tough demeanor and strong faith he tries to make a difference - especially with Norris - a youth on the edge of falling into a lifetime of drugs and gangs. What would it be like to abandon your independence, to need people, to rely on strangers for food and transport, safety and kindness - and to film it all?

Born and raised in South Africa, Kyle and Tarynn embarked on an adventure - to hitch-hike across the United States of America. Before they leave, a concerned friend offers them a colt 45 pistol as protection from 'the crazies'. Heading out of New York City, with a thumb in the air, the two friends’ journey, one car at a time, into a world of trailer parks, drugs, and American fast food. They find themselves spending the night with Dave, his forty cats and electric guitars! And their lives begin to change. Friendship is tested. They find their perfect family in a log cabin in Tennessee and accept God in a pick up truck with a man named Bob. Staying with strangers in a foreign land turns out to be a journey closer to home.
