A superbly animated, clever and funny short film from Swedish character animator Alli Sadegiani. Through the simplest of plotlines, a single character, a single setting and a little comedy we see human greed laid bare for the idiotic and dangerous thing it is, something we all know is a part of us bubbling beneath the surface, that some keep in check and others fail to with disastrous implications for themselves and the people around them.

A great new series from Babel Productions, Temps Mort (time out), begins on the Internet on tempsmort.tv starting July 9th. A massive event on the Internet unlike any other. Never has a series had such complete and immersive content. In 10 episodes of about 5 minutes each, this series follows the story of Joel, a young adult leaving Montreal and trying to return to his family in Rouyn-Noranda, following a cataclysm in the year 2013. He is stopped in the middle of his escape and finds shelter in the countryside. Electricity fails and, in the middle of September, snow suddenly starts to fall. Facing a scenery frozen in time and ice, only his notebook keeps him sane. He
patiently waits for winter to end and for communications to be restored, but there is no sign whatsoever that the situation is going to change… snow keeps on falling and the months go by : April, May, June… and still more snow and no help coming!
What would you do if winter never ended?. (Less)

Xcorps Action Sports Show #29.) "MIG-21" - DIRECTORS CUT - The Xcorps goes ballistic in this special supersonic episode featuring host Jason Lazo strapping into a Russian MIG-21 combat jet fighter, host Rat Sult unleashing his new 500HP desert sand rod all powered by music from 4 new rocking bands!
The show opens from Stead Air Field near Reno Nevada where host Jason Lazo is walking the line at Mig Alley - called this because of the nest of Russian jet fighter aircraft parked there. It's all about high performance on the Xcorps with Jason looking Top Gun sitting in the original 70's era Mach 2.3 cockpit. The Russian plane is known for its very high performance and terror factor to U.S. fighter pilots!
Segment one warms up with some close up shots of the Red Star Squadron jet and some pre-flight briefing by X Rocket pilot Bob Ray who coaches Jason on the finer points of ejection seat etiquette. If the engine quits its time to leave-fast - since the plane nose-dives like a lawn dart without power! Jason checks out the thin wings and BIG engine, which jams the jet over 1300 mph wide open! Music by Downtown Records new band Eagles of Death Metal jamming their song - Just Nineteen - keeping the pace. Fun.
After the break Jason returns to introduce new music and a cool video from mega band Eagles of Death Metal doing their song - I Want you so Hard. Featured with the band in the vid are musician Dave Grohl and actor Jack Black. Hilarious! Produced by Josh Homme this music is s*xy rock and roll fun!
After that the JP5 fuel ignites with Jason in the MIG and more new tunes from the Maverick Records band Family Force 5 keeping it taught with their song - Love Addict. Check out the original aqua-green cockpit interior devoid of any fancy gadgets or electronics - a true high performance pilots airplane. Killer on board video and sounds of Xcorps Jason Lazo and pilot Bob Ray shot by mini DV cams as the plane taxis and launches off the runway. No punches were pulled during full test flight maneuvers including 5G turns, 4-point barrel rolls and inverted loops with full afterburner. Fun way to burn 500 gallons of gas in less than 45 minutes - only on The Xcorps!
After the landing see Jasons new look and what pilot Billy Bob Ray thinks of our Xcorps host! Great sound bytes from Top Gun J and what he compares the combat style speed ride to!
Segment three rolls out with Jason jamming his own guitar and a cool new video from our friends at RIVE featuring the band Street Dogs. U.S. Iraq war vets make up the band and produced the video with their song. Back to the World - being as true and down home as it gets. Check this angle. Back our forces!
The high horsepower continues in next segment with Jason throwing the action to guest host Rat Sult at the Glamis Dunes firing up his new All Star sand rod powered by a 500HP LS2 Corvette motor. Check out the POV action as Rat rolls up and races 2 other sand rods pumped by new Suburban NoiZe Records band Hed p.e. doing their song Lock and Load.
Xcorps Xguru Eric Ducharme hosts segment 4 reporting back stage from the Black Cat in Washington D.C. rapping with Eagles of Death Metal band member Jesse Boots Electric Hughes. Check out the laughs and the story on how the band got its name.
The Mig show closes out with a few more high-speed shots of Jason over the Nevada desert and his thanks to all involved in making this episode the fastest one yet with a promise of another dose next week! See the action - Hear the Music - Join the Xcorps!

Terra Madre is a project conceived by Slow Food, the philosophy of which evolved over the the organization’s history and crystallized at its realization that “eating is an agricultural act and producing is a gastronomic act.” Slow Food had always stood for the pleasures of the table, for the importance of good-tasting food, and for the defense of cultures facing growing homogenization as a result of today’s so-called modern rationales regarding production, distribution, and economies of scale. It was where these “rationales” were leading that brought Slow Food to realize the need to protect and support small producers, and to change the systems that put them in danger by bringing together those players with decision-making power: consumers, educational institutions, chefs and cooks, agricultural research entities, NGOs, etc. It became clear that it is only through repeated, cumulative, local action, following a guiding global vision, that a significant impact can be achieved.
Thus Terra Madre was born: To give voice and visibility to the rural food producers who populate our world. To raise their awareness, as well as that of the population at large, of the value of their work. To sustain their ability to work under the best conditions, for all of our good and for the good of the planet. For these reasons, constructing a global network—with information-sharing tools, the means to learn from each other, and opportunities for collaboration in many ways—seemed invaluable. We must continue to have fertile lands, lands on which sprout and grow plants and animals appropriate to those environments, rather than needing to be pumped full of chemicals to make them thrive artificially. And we must also continue to have the people capable of stewarding these lands, to have their know-how, so we can have food that still carries the tastes of our youth.
The inaugural gathering of Terra Madre launched the network in 2004 in Torino, and was on an unprecedented scale. This first edition brought together 5000 producers from 130 countries and shone global media attention on their crisis. The second edition was in 2006, and incorporated an additional 1000 cooks, from renowned to modest, but all aware of their role relative to high-quality food producers. Also in attendance were 400 researchers and academics, seeking to bridge the theory of their work with hands-on practice.
A project of this scope could never have come into being without a dedicated core of partners. Slow Food rallied public institutions as well as local, regional, and national bodies to collectively form the Terra Madre Foundation, further partnering with private companies and numerous like-minded networks, some of which were established specially for the event. Xcorps Action Sports Show #14.) "BASE-2" - Those fearing heights beware - this episode of the Xcorps freefalls right over the edge with guest host and world class B.A.S.E. jumper Ray Murphy falling into a 1200 foot glory hole in Mexico called Cave of the Swallows. For the ultimate in ground rushes Ray and 5 loco amigo hombres from the States - Matt McClone, Jeremy Brice, Morgan Moert, Travis Meimann, and Dan Langstraat strap on parasails that look like small backpacks and launch themselves into the massive underground void where very few have gone before. Surreal action scenes here along with great tunes by Off by One, Drowning Pool and cool new breakout band from New England - Jediah all mixing well with the ambient cave audio echo.
B.A.S.E. jumpers - Buildings - Antennas - Structures - Earth are an insane and growing niche of adventurers who first must do thousands of jumps from aircraft to learn the needed skills to jump closer to earth. Jumping BASE is jumping with no margin for error. Feel true terror with scenes shot with multi helmet cams worn by the six eXtremists. The viewer is pulled downward with adrenalized clarity into one of the largest limestone sinkholes on the planet - The Cave of the Swallows near the remote town of Golondrinas in Eastern Mexico. The hole is 1200 feet deep - a seven second 100 mph B.A.S.E. drop into an echo chamber filled with sound of screaming freefalls and the wail of thousands of swallows and parrots living in the vertical cave walls. Surreal for sure! Watch those boulders when landing! There are no nearby hospitals. See how they get out.
Mid way through the show Ray introduces a new music video from our friends at Rive music promotions with the band NickelBack cranking up the volume with an explosive solid rock performance of their song - Figured You Out.
After that Ray returns with more BASE action followed by Xcorps host Bob Woodard riding a new skateboard from our friends at PHAT boards. Bob rolls the hills of Point Loma San Diego with the Hammerhead super wide track pushed by tunes from Drowning Pool. Cool board to see. Hear what Bob thinks of the ride.
After that its back to Ray in Mexico going even bigger and some great shots from a cameraman hanging half way down on a rope. Is that what a falling body sounds like!
The show wraps with some sweet wakeboard shots - a preview of an upcoming Xcorps episode. Additional music by One Side Zero, Rolling Stones and Dr.Dre. Mucho loco! TRT-29:30 4/04 Close Captioned - J.S.Edmondson.

Part Two in "Death of a Neuron," an anti-drug trilogy. In this paranoid odyssey of adolescent change, three best friends try to make their first feature film. As they progress with this fantasy, reality fades into the absurd. An ironic and naturalistic critique of suburban youth culture. Metaphorical, surrealist and lewd, the film breathes randomness.
While a great deal of absurdist fiction is humorous in nature, the hallmark of the genre is not humor, but rather the study of human behavior under circumstances that are highly unusual. Unlike many other forms of literature, absurdist works will not necessarily have a traditional plot structure (i.e. rising action, climax, falling action). Similarly, the “moral” of the story is generally not explicit, and the characters are often ambiguous in nature. It would be accurate to describe absurdism and absurdist fiction as an "acquired taste." The genre is a favorite among scholars because it lends itself so well to interpretation, discussion and debate.
Created for an avant-garde film course. It is an experimental piece.

The show opens with guest host and BMX legend Rick Thorne at his custom BMX park built in his backyard in east LA. See what The Man in Black says about the sport and check the action backed by new tunes and video from Suburban Noize band Mower cranking their song Road Rage. None died in the making of the vid!
Crystal and Rat roll the Vans Warped Tour and cover the All Girl Skate Jam happening at the custom all aluminum ramp painted by the folks at Lost. Cool. Rat interviews female skaters Apryl Woodcock and Mandy Esch. Great shots of them and other girls pulling moves.
After the break the action and music continue with the KottonMouth Kings performing their new video Move cut to more freestyle BMX action featuring Rick Thorne. Nice fit. Rat interviews Rick for the details behind the freestyle zone he calls Fade to Black named after the Metallica song. Cool foam pit flights by rider Sean Stack here also all backed by tunage from Maverick Records - Cookie - doing Hot Night.
In the next segment Rat and Crystal thro it to host Jason Lazo who is at the super-sized Vans skate park called The Block, in Orange California which at 46,000 sq. feet makes it one of the largest skate parks on the planet. X cams rolled the action on the street course complete with ramps, rails, banks and pyramids. Killer shots at the 80 foot vert ramp as well as pros rolling the Combi Pool built from the original Upland Ca skate pool plans. Sweet!

After the break the cameras find Rat hanging at the AGSJ booth with the cool girls from team MetroMint and he talks to AGSJ founder Patty Segovia about the event.
