Hello from Colorado I am Real estate agent in Summit County Breckenridge, Frisco and Copper mountain realty. Breckenridge homes, condos for sale Breckenridge realtor I agree with most of you who are saying that bad things happen to good people but we have to be realistic, most of the people losing their Summit County homes are those who jumped at a chance to own something they couldn't afford. ARM's- adjustable rate real estate mortgages- that should tell you something, most normal people have not figured out how the market works, now home buyers are betting their homes and the rest of their lives that they know the ups and downs of the Summit County real estate market. It is crazy to think that you can afford a house without knowing what it will cost you every month for the life of the loan. ARM's- as my training tells me- are only for people who plan on short term ownership. They are never for the purchase of a long term home. I realize that I have the benefit of financial education and that is exactly the problem here. Most people are not educated about buying a home. That is not the president's fault, many things may be but not that. It is our responsibility to learn about something before we try to do it. You wouldn't drive without a license, (well, maybe you would, but you shouldn't), you wouldn't skydive without learning how buy Summit County mls, and you shouldn't sign away your life without learning about the options. You can't depend on anyone else to teach you, especially not on the person making money form your loan. You wouldn't make a decision on what else to buy based on the salesman's recommendation. Would you buy a car you didn't know a thing about because a guy on the lot said it was great? People should learn more before they jump into something that seems great. As someone else said if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. Please, people educate yourselves against scum that will sell you to the devil to make a buck.
