INTERVENTION Salzburg Part One

Intervention Salzburg Part One ist Teil der ART IN PROCESS International Project series 2009 Salzburg/AUSTRIA * 11. May – 12. June * artist residency * subnet: platform for media art and experimental technologies
Évora/PORTUGAL * 26. June – 07. July * exhibition and workshop * Escrita na Paisagem – media art and performance festival
Kumasi/GHANA * 28. July – 19. August * project and symposium * Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology

An artist's text spoken by three women's voices in three different languages leads through a digital composition about a certain relation between the human being and nature (as a gigantic force) in a mechanized world. The artist shows the human being as an alienated and remote-controlled figure that strolls through shopping malls and finds itself exposed to nature and a world, based on urban areas - traffic - mass medias. The human body starts to float, losing individualism and independence...

Digital evidence

Produced 2006 Motion picture from the beginning stages to the present - a documentation, a diagram; digital evidence of film's past and present. The digital collage shows scenes, frequencies of films from the beginning of film culture to the present time of the film industry. It contains all genres that have been used and brought into film material. This work shows different scenes of films in one big overview - built up through different layers; it gives a very compressed and intense picture of the subjects that films are made of. What it does is to irritate the viewer's eye, to confront him with the mass of film material that is already present in our times and has been used in the last couple of decades since the beginning of film. It reflects everything the film industry has used as themes and stories: from idols and gangsters, from the beautiful and the ugly to the serious issues of historic material as a film package, entertaining the public audience in some kind. Today we know the film and cinema as one huge entertainment sector, coming up with hundreds of new movies each year all around the globe. What it does is not only to entertain, but more often, to manipulate the viewer. The film industry portraits reality in black and white, good and evil; clichés, worlds the world dreams of. Film today is Reality TV, documentation, love boat, comedy and series about crime and investigation. It is a full-on program each day that is "spread" onto the streets of western and sub cultural habitats. DVD stores, cinemas and home TV are supplying us with floods of film material that a huge amount of people is consuming every day of their lives. This film collage by bello benischauer is looking into the massive film material available to us these days. It scans through the material and gives an idea about what is broadcasted throughout the world in one day.

By: artinprocess
Duration: 16:49
Added: 9 months ago
Views: 34
Categories: Educational International Video Art
Tags: e x h i b t o n experimenta digital media production

This exhibition concept is about his paintings that exist in relation to his digital work/art projects, which are often used in the creating process of his video poetries as well as playing a certain role in the audio-visual installations. The paintings discuss the crossing of the aesthetic border and can be seen as wall-objects too. The artists main work focus has been that special dialogue between paintings/wall-objects and audio-visual installations for many years.

By: artinprocess
Duration: 07:35
Added: 10 months ago
Views: 115
Categories: Educational International Video Art
Tags: exhibition documentray

A story about the discoveries of a creature sent to earth to investigate human life.
A philosophical view on things around us in Western Society.
Experimental Digital Media Production in English and German.

What are the film and the scenes about: THE STORY- BASIC IDEA.
The only character that appears in this experimental film as a kind of story teller is the Blind Queen, which is a creature from another world - sent as a human being - to investigate the earth, human behaviour and its relationship to nature and its inner self. It is a fiction story about a creature coming to earth that documents her feelings and experiences as a person.
The film shows different places and people passing by or in close-ups. The more outstanding people are, the more interested is the Blind Queen watching them. The story - if there is any - is pointed on Western Society and its lack of spirituality and understanding of inner worlds...
The setting is built up around places in Western Australia, City and landscapes, natural environments and industrial places. There is no specific time line. This experimental film has neither storyboard nor a clearly defined script with an action running through. The pictures that appear and the scenes are in a non-regular sequence and are following only the basic idea of these six stages of transformation in life. The film is produced in German and English with the choice of subtitles.

By: artinprocess
Duration: 48:45
Added: 11 months ago
Views: 110
Categories: Video Art
Tags: experimenta digital media production

SUEX - recycled iMac installation

The project reflects on urgent matters concerning our lifestyle, throwaway society and cultural intolerance/ignorance. It discusses in which directions the world will possibly develop, which relationships/communities are about to be created in context to different perceptions of environmental sustainability and climate change. What does it mean to protect and keep things how they are? Is it necessary to destroy, to form something new? SUEX creates an immersive platform to distinguish a change of thinking, a shifting of accommodated world conception. The viewer is suddenly confronted with language barriers (in the sound composition) and an “unwanted” identification with thoughtless consuming pattern in the video images that address the importance of nature as the main source of life. Presented at ARTECH08, University of Porto/Portugal. 2007/08 - SUEX english 06:40 min, SUEX japanese 09:20 min, SUEX hebrew 07:57 min, SUEX noongar 05:30 min.

By: artinprocess
Duration: 04:18
Added: 11 months ago
Views: 92
Categories: Educational Video Art
Tags: experimental digital media production
