Ten years ago, in the sleepy little town of Burden, a series of baffling abductions took place. Special Agent-in-Charge Sam Marra lead the investigation, but neither the predator nor the victims were ever found. As the years passed, the vivid memory and humiliation of that experience became Sam's ever-present companions. No one questions whether Sam is a good man, or a competent agent. It's just that since the Burden case, Sam has become a different man. But as fate would have it, he'll get another chance... and it could be his last.
