Zomblogalypse Episode 2 - 'BOREDOM'
"I hope the series becomes a popular fixture on Openfilm."
www.zomblogalypse.com Episode 2 of the web series about the three survivors of a zombie apocalypse. In their sequestered flat, Hannah, Tony and Miles feel safe from the undead marauding around outside. Sadly, their confidence is mistaken. More episodes at the website, plus more coming here soon.

This series just keeps getting better and better, and to be honest, I think I underestimated it when I reviewed the first episode. That can happen sometimes, when the first episode isn't as strong because all of the characters have to be established. Now I think I "get" it. I hope Zomblogalypse becomes a popular fixture on Openfilm.

In this episode, we're back with Hannah, Tony and Miles trying to stay alive in the aftermath of some kind of zombie apocalypse and posting videos of their experiences online. As the title of the ‘sode indicates, these experiences are pretty mundane. When Hannah asks Miles what he's been up to, he says he's been collecting rainwater in a mug for the last four hours. Tony gets a little more creative. He straps chunks of meat to his legs and plays a game of Meat Legs, chasing zombies at the park and kicking a human brain around. For realz.

In the second half of the episode, Hannah, Tony and Miles become the victims of a home invasion, and it's here where the series really hits its stride. The comedy and horror elements mix perfectly. There are genuine jump-and-scream moments, like when Tony and Miles investigate the bathroom. But the scene ends with a big laugh after Tony has bashed in a zombie's brain and he says to the camera, "Rock on!" The make-up effects are actually pretty convincing, making the video look even stranger because it was filmed in a cinéma vérité style. Brilliant work, you guys.
