This is the first episode of a Web show about Eden and her imaginary bitches. Apparently her real bitches aren't good enough for her - they're all in relationships and preoccupied with men - so single Eden makes up some fake ones to confide in. If it sounds like S*x and the City meets A Beautiful Mind... well, you're not far off. If that spells doom, don't fret. I'm not the biggest fan of S*x and the City, either. Don't get me wrong, I'm interested in what women have to say - just not the preternaturally superficial ones.

What saves Imaginary Bitches is the lead performance by Eden Riegel. She made quite an impression on me back in the day as "the sophomore chick" in American Pie. Yeah, that was nice. Now 28, Riegel has grown into a deft and likable performer. She reminds me of Sarah Silverman with her mousy little voice and hip college-dorm room clothes, and that's not a bad thing at all.

In this ‘sode, Eden goes to lunch with her real bitches and meets a waiter, played by Michael Traynor. He must be one of those trust-fund waiters I keep hearing about, because his pad looks like it cost about a million bucks. They spend the night together, and in the morning Eden can't wait to tell her friends about it. The trouble is her friends are all busy, so she starts talking to imaginary people. The waiter catches her in the act.

Both actors are terrific in this scene, especially Riegel. I especially like the part where one of her imaginary bitches has just told her that the waiter looks gay, and she turns around and mouths, "What the f**k?!" As long as she's featured heavily in the rest of the episodes, then I'm game for more Imaginary Bitches.
