Is this the coolest demo reel ever or what? It’s only been on the site a few weeks, and so far it’s racked up about 300 views. Let’s try to quadruple that by the New Year.
The video is a highlight reel of live-action and animated work by Patrick Boivin, the genius behind Radio and PhylactereCola. Words can’t do justice to the kinds of images on display here. We see fish swim in midair, a break-dancing Boba Fett, crayons picking themselves up off a table to make art, and a mom putting food on the family table with a forklift. It has the kind of funny-satirical vibe that exemplifies Boivin’s work, but it’s also strangely moving, especially when Alexis LeMay’s score for Radio kicks in. Not to be missed.
