Bulletin is about a man whose girlfriend is so beautiful that he feels sorry for all her ex-lovers. He keeps them up-to-date by sending out monthly bulletins detailing what the girl is up to, even going so far as to include the stub of an eyebrow pencil in one of the envelopes. The tone is sad but the scenario is quirky enough to keep you smiling. This is a very poetic and original movie.
As with all victorsolomon videos, the production design is very exact. But it's especially strong in this case. The color blue is used to match the melancholy delivery of the narrator, as are the slow, seductive tracking shots and the film's spellbinding music. Solomon's biggest strength is his source material, the short-story collection Anthropology by Dan Rhodes. The way Rhodes describes the girlfriend's feet is enough to give you goosebumps.
