Not only is Openfilm rapidly becoming the coolest place to watch videos online, it's also becoming a good resource for finding new bands and recording artists. Just last week, I watched See Them Run on the Sydwoodward channel. One of the key sequences in the film spotlights the music of Xavier Rudd. After that, I just had to download "The Energy Song." Now I need to go download me some Danny Malone tracks.

This music video shows how much can be accomplished with the simplest of set-ups. All it shows is Malone singing his sweet and twangy song "Baby Bleu" in various settings, armed only with a guitar and a microphone stand. He sings at the park, in the middle of traffic and at a house party. That's it, and it's more than enough. His mouth movements don't exactly match, but it doesn't matter. Directors Jeremy Cohen and Christopher Morse use reverse photography, along with Malone's charming and photogenic screen presence, to keep the video entertaining and fun.

Malone is something of a cut-up, as you'll see when you watch Danny Malone: #1 Loser. Several scenes at the end of the video show him fighting off a ferocious-looking dog. I can't tell whether he's acting, if he's really in danger or what, but it's hysterical.
