The United Nations Association of Norway (UNA-Norway) and the Nordic Youth Film Festival (NUFF) are now accepting submissions for the 2nd annual UN Youth Film Award, to be handed out at the 2011 NUFF. All young filmmakers between the ages of 15 and 25 are encouraged to submit.
The prize for best international film – “A Movie for a Better World” – will be awarded to the filmmaker who creates a film that addresses the challenges of today’s world and communicates alternative solutions to these challenges. In particular, the festival hopes to honor films that directly or indirectly link to the UN’s goals for:
- The promotion of democracy and human rights
- The fight against poverty and environmental destruction
- Strengthening the work for peace and conflict solutions
