About the Festival
The Tacoma Film Festival is founded on the idea that new and emerging filmmakers should be given the opportunity to have their work shown before an audience. The spirit behind the festival is that by appreciating the new talent as it unfolds, we are anticipating the future of film.
The Tacoma Film Festival celebrates current independent film from around the globe. Our primary focus is to bring quality film to the big screen and to showcase true independent film that our audiences will probably never get the chance to see again. We keep our format open and don’t decide ahead of time how many features, shorts or documentaries we will show. We simply search for the best quality and most interesting films, no matter the type or length. If your film stands out, we’ll definitely find a spot for it in Tacoma.
Requirements
- Feature Film (Fiction or Documentary) - [46+ minutes]
- Short Film (Fiction or Documentary) - [1-45 minutes]

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
For purposes of definition, a film is considered to be a "feature film" if it is 45 minutes or longer. “Shorts” are films that are less than 45 minutes. Documentaries, live action and animated films all fall under these same rules of length. Entries should be on NTSC formatted DVDs only.
To be considered for 2011, the Tacoma Film Festival requires:
1. A completed entry via withoutabox.com
2. A DVD, NTSC format ONLY, or via secure online screener of your film.
3. The required and appropriate entry fee.
4. The film to have been completed in 2010 or later.
