About the Festival

The Lighthouse International Film Festival was founded by a collection of filmmakers, film critics and film industry professionals who share a passion for film and wanted to create an event aimed first and foremost at film enthusiasts. The 2009 festival featured over 50 films from around the world, including 8 films that had premiered at the recent Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca and South-by-Southwest film festivals, as well as panel discussions with leading film industry professionals. The festival takes place on Long Beach Island, NJ -- one of the East coast’s most popular surfing destinations, and a short ride from both New York City and Philadelphia.

Requirements

Entering Guidelines: - All films must be in English or subtitled in English. - Tapes and publicity materials will not be returned. - Films must have been completed after January 1, 2009. - All entries must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. - The Lighthouse International Film Festival is not responsible for cassettes lost or damaged in transit.

Awards

A panel of jurists comprised of filmmakers and professionals in the various fields of cinema will award the:
