Josh Brolin is Spike Lee's "Oldboy!"

I love "Oldboy," the 2003 Korean thriller from Park Chan-wook which was the Grand Prix Winner at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival. Mandate Pictures is remaking the film with Spike Lee set to direct the Mark Protosevich script.

Josh Brolin was rumored to be on the short list but now, Deadline is saying it's official: Brolin will be working with Lee and production begins in March.

Can you picture Brolin as an avenging father who was kidnapped on his daughter's birthday and kept in solitary confinement for 15 years? I can! For now, check out the trailer of the original "Oldboy!"
