"Immortals" reigned supreme at the box-office! The Regency Pictures flick debuted at No. 1 with $32 million. Starring Mickey Rourke and the soon-to-be-Superman, "Immortals" from director Tarsem Singh was beautiful to look at, but narratively empty, but to no avail -- moviegoers embraced the eye-candy Greek mythology flick. Previous weekend's box-office champ, "Puss in Boots" fell to No. 3 with a still respectable $25.5 million box-office take. So far, our favorite furry feline has hauled $108.8 million total.

"J. Edgar," in limited release, still muscled a strong $11.5 million for the No. 5 position. Starring Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Clint Eastwood, "J. Edgar" was helped by DiCaprio's performance, but ultimately, the film did not have anything to say. ("J. Edgar" movie review)
