A Good Movie is Hard to Find

We've all heard our female friends and family members say that famous saying: "A good man is hard to find!" Well how about this take on that saying: "A good Spanish movie is hard to find!!!" Well my dear Cinebloggers, I got news for you: In the process of finding A Good Movie, we found A Good Man (Un Buen Hombre)!

Written and directed by Juan Martinez Moreno, this Spanish film is a powerful psychological thriller filled with tension and strength. It tells the story of Vincent (Tristan Ulloa) and Fernando (Gutiérrez Caba), two close friends and both professors at Law School. Fernando is a paternal figure to Vincent, both professionally and in their personal lives. One afternoon, unexpectedly, Vincent witnesses Fernando killing his wife. Unable to go to the police, Vincent is not able to understand, much less forgive his friend, because of his strong religious and moral rigidity. From this moment on, a series of events is unleashed that reveal the double standards of the characters.

The release date for the film is April 30th, but with the trailer and the buzz this film is getting, it is sure to be one of the best Spanish-language films of the year. It's already premiering in the Malaga Film Festival and word is that it's the film to look out for!

Although the trailer and film are not yet out in English, you can view the trailer in Spanish here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clXzw_fMWEU

Enjoy what is to be, in my opinion, one of the best Spanish films of 2009!
