What Would You Do? Interview Pang Ho-Cheung (Dream Home)

This probably is not the same in other cultures.

"How do you differ from your peers in cinema in Hong Kong?"

I choose the topics I want and stick to them, no matter what. I don't sollicit co-productions, so my films are completely Hong Kong productions. It is essential for me to maintain absolute director's control.

"Have you had any offers to work for Hollywood?"

In fact, I have, but I refused because I want that complete artistic control over my work under all circumstances, even if I have to lower my budget and shoot my film in digital, as I did.

"Re the format you used, why did you opt for that certain technique of digital filming?"

At first, I was afraid to use it, as I feared some imperfections in lighting or colours could surface, but I got a guarantor on the result, so that made me feel comfortable and I went ahead and must say, the technical shortcomings I was afraid of, didn't occur and everything turned out alright.
