The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences narrowed their list for the Animated Short Films category. Forty-four films originally qualified and now, we're down to 10.

When most people think of 3D, they imagine the grand spectacles behind major box office smashes. Once you can strip down the major studio budget and the gimmicky nature of 3D, the experience can change completely – as seen with "Trains of Shadows".

So, the 2011 Emmy nominations were announced last night, my home away from home, KMIR6, the NBC affiliate in Palm Springs received the most nominations locally - 8 nods! Yay!

Have I told you how much I admire "Source Code?" I love director Duncan Jones (if you still haven’t seen "Moon, what are you waiting for?), and with "Source Code," he brings back his great storytelling and sci-fi sensibilities witnessed in "Moon."
