Nicholas Sparks is a good storyteller. His prose digs deep into the male and female psyches which makes his books intriguing and moving. Most romantic melodramas just favor the point-of-view of the female character so it’s quite refreshing that Sparks understands both sides.

So is the new Nicholas Sparks film worth your money? Is Zac Efron effortless in channeling fellow Sparks alumnus Channing Tatum for the role?

In the vigilante fantasy Gone, Amanda Seyfried plays Jill, a young Portland woman who can’t shake the memory of her abduction a year ago.

She plays Jill, a normal student whose life turns for the worse when her sister is taken by a serial killer. The problem is, Jill thinks he's the same serial killer who abducted her before but no one wants to believe her, not even the police.

Liam Neeson is back to save the world in "The Grey." The unlikely action star reteams with his "A-Team" director, Joe Carnahan, for a high-concept movie that is quite deeper than your average run-of-the-mill popcorn flick.
