As soon as director Gary Ross exited "The Hunger Games" franchise, many speculations were floating around as to who should replace him for the sequel "Hunger Games: Catching Fire."

"The Hunger Games" is being described as the next "Harry Potter" and "Twilight" because of its massive fan base stemming from its literary origin. Many fans of the Suzanne Collins book could not wait to see the film.

I enjoyed meeting Gary Oldman (check out my interview with the actor for "Tinker Tailor" below) and his Best Actor Oscar nod is definitely deserving!

Dear Hollywood Foreign Press, There’s not a whole lot of foreign-y things going on at the nominations announced this morning. Like for example, what the heck happened to "Harry Potter?" No love for one of the greatest British series ever, not to mention one of the most beloved franchises?

Some movies come directly to you, begging for your attention if not demanding it outright. And other movies sit still and quiet even as they hold out a hand, beckoning you closer until you’ve been drawn in almost in spite of yourself.

It's mostly shots from the last two "Batman" films, but it's still intriguing. Lots of Gary Oldman hospital drama, a little Bane (Tom Hardy) shot here and there, but nary a Catwoman (Anne Hathaway)!
