When your film is finished and you've taken a few minutes to catch your breath and enjoy watching it on screen, usually one of the next steps is deciding whether or not you're going to enter it into film festivals. While it's common to daydream about taking your movie to Sundance or fantasize about winning an award in Toronto, in many instances these are probably not the most ideal places to submit to, especially if you're starting out. It's an achievement to write, produce or direct any project whether it's a short or a feature, but afterwards sometimes it's difficult to be objective in assessing where your film has the best chance of being successful.
